Turning User Experience into a Growth Engine

Marketing brings visitors to your site. What happens next decides whether they become customers.

The write-up

Marketing fills the bucket. UX fixes the holes.

Many businesses spend heavily on ads and content, then lose the visitors at the door: slow pages, confusing navigation, a checkout that falls apart on mobile. They are pouring water into a leaking bucket and buying more water.

In Bilbao I talked about turning a WordPress site into a growth engine, where marketing and user experience work together instead of blaming each other.

Trust before the click

People decide in seconds whether you look trustworthy. Clear pricing, real photos, honest reviews and a contact option that isn’t hidden. A call to action works when the visitor already believes you, not because the button is orange.

Speed is part of the offer

Google’s own research shows that as load time goes from one to three seconds, the chance of a bounce rises by 32%. Every second you shave off is a discount you don’t have to give.

Test, don’t argue

A/B tests end opinion wars. Test one change at a time on the pages that matter most: landing pages, checkout and lead forms. Keep what wins, drop what doesn’t, and write down what you learned.

The best part: most of these fixes cost less than one month of ad spend, and they keep paying back every month after.
